Data Structure

Data Structure
Windows explorer site folder structure
IG deploys content using a folders based data structure. More intuitive to manipulate than a database, the folder structure allows for the easy examination and manipulation of objects under the data folder of your website.

Several examples of this inherent flexibility include:

Ability to move images and text within folders. Let's say you have a folder with content (this can be text, images and subfolders with text and images) that you wish to move to another folder. Simply copy and paste the files and/or folders under the first folder into another folder. This is useful when you want to change the URL of a page as IG folder based URL's follows the folder structure under data.

"Explorer mode" Let's say you have several files and folders on your computer hard drive that you wish to make part of your website. Simply upload your information to the data folder and the IG system will recognize the files and folders and make them available for download.

A common problem for management of large websites is the occsional loss of a page. The folder based approach allows you to examine and replace lost or corrupted information more easily than any other method.
