01-25-07 Letter email fatal errors
Dear Sir,
Our ISP suggests that you find and restart your DNS services. Our lack of being able to email you based on messages to you stacked in our mailserver's outgoing Retry queue and is evidence of our mailserver not communicating properly with one of your dns servers.
What we now know is that due to worlwide heavy spammer activity that started in November of 2006, our DNS, and indeed one or more of your ISP's DNS, may have become unresponsive. Ask your ISP to provide you with a list of All the nameservers they publiclly list in association with the MX (email exchange) record for your email address's domain name. Suggest to them that they perform daily diagnostics on ALL of their public DNS servers, the weakness of any ONE of which is a direct indicator of the rare and particular message we see when attempting to send a message to your email address.
We'd be more than happy to provide a copy of the "permanent fatal errors" message we receive so you can see the headers.
