Nancy,
I enjoyed our meeting last night discussing The Reminder and email.
We discussed at length the travails that have become providing email service and looked at various options. It's inevitable, I think, if your clients are coming to you with what amounts to "technology problems" then one of the least time consuming methods is to perform a test of the account at your location, send the client some helpful links then, failing that, send your IT guy out there to see to the installation of Outlook and troubleshoot pc & network problems. At this point it's understood the hourly nature of the office visit.
I think, at minimum YOU need the ability to jump back and forth between a PC and Mac to perform the Outlook test. You know, with client's account credentials either in your desk and on your computers you need an office with a locking door. The ability for industrial espionage exists where there is a store of private client data. It would be just too easy for someone to grab logins out of a folder and be able to monitor accounts with little or no chance of being found out.
Outlook is Microsoft's email software that clients always seem to want to use. Yet the manufacturer of the software seems to be above it all when it comes to taking the phone calls. In theory, Microsoft probably owes me $75,000 worth of aggravation although I could say $125,000 over 12 years is only $10,000/year.
Sincerely, Ken Kaprielian Litchfield Webservices 1-860-355-5751 P.S. Domain Name server re-assignments are brutal and can take weeks or months of ongoing negotiations with multiple parties especially when the account information is long since lost. We immediately suggest that we create a New Domain name to use temporarily while They go about the business of contacting whomever and trying to get whatever they need to effectively take control of their "lost" domain name.
