Outlook doesn't display the in box by default. You have to effect a checkbox somewhere in properties to have Outlook come up displaying it's in box.

This is where SMTP and POP3 Settings are entered.

IMAP is a more versatile option for when on the road. It handles the back and forth communication better so that you aren't stuck in a hotel on a dial-up and a big attachment prevents you from seeing your inbox.

With so many broadband providers imposing restrictions on port 25 (the normal SMTP port) we recommend port 366 as an alternate.

From here you can effect other useful settings such as Checking the "leave mail on server" box. (clean it out frequently)
